LoopAhead
LoopAhead: Speculating Ahead for Faster Decoding in Looped Language Models
A speculative decoding framework for looped transformers that gives different recurrent depths complementary roles: a lightweight lookahead drafter predicts several future tokens from early-loop states, deeper-loop feedback decides which draft branches to continue, and the full-depth model makes final decisions.
Inside the method
Early-loop state → lookahead drafter → deeper-loop branch control → full-depth verify
Simplified conceptual schematic. Consult the paper for the complete architecture.

Reading note
Reports up to 7.82× decoding speedup over autoregressive decoding while preserving the target model's output distribution.
